Why Integration Matters After a Psychedelic Experience

Why integration matters after a psychedelic experience

Many people report psychedelic experiences as a time that becomes one of the most profound moments of their life.

They come back changed, with a new view, perhaps they can't quite put into words. Perhaps they experienced something that shifted the way they now experience their reality.

For some people the ‘trip’ is what they are looking for, it may be more about the experience in the moment, having fun or simply exploring. For others, healing and change is the intention.

For those hoping to create lasting change, integration can be where these altered states become longer lasting altered traits.

There's growing evidence that shows us that the heightened neuroplastic state following a psychedelic experience can last for several days to a few weeks.

This is often called the integration window…

It's a real, biological opportunity. But it's also a vulnerable one.

Because a brain that's more open is also more suggestible, more porous, more easily shaped, for better or worse. What you do with that window matters.

For some people, psychedelic sessions may be when trauma re surfaces…

A session can bring up memories, sensations, or emotions that have been held for a long time, sometimes without much warning. This can be a profound part of the healing process. It can also be overwhelming, especially if it happens without the right support around you.

This kind of material often needs real processing, not just a single, powerful moment, but ongoing space to work through what came up.

You don't have to make sense of this alone.

If you've had or plan to have a psychedelic experience, I can support you to weave new ways of being into your life.
